A very rocky trail with consistent elevation gain leading to a fire tower. This hike begins at a trailhead on Route 214 near Stony Clove Notch in Hunter, NY. The trail ascends for approximately 2.35 miles and gains 2240 feet in elevation. The trail returns the same way, descending back down to the parking area. Start your hike early to ensure a parking spot.

The Hunter Fire Tower top cab is open for sweeping 360 degree views on weekends from May through October, staffed by a Catskill Center volunteer interpreter.
