Join Our CRISP Director, John, and our Volunteer Coordinator, Kate, on September 7 from 10-12 as they lead a hike along the Ashokan Rail Trail. 

This will be a 4-mile round-trip hike, on a level, gravel path.

The Catskill Center’s CRISP (Catskill Regional Invasive Species Partnership) team has been addressing invasive species along the rail trail this season. During our hike, we’ll identify invasive species and discuss their impact on native flora and wildlife. We’ll also highlight the vistas overlooking the Ashokan Reservoir, where we’ve removed invasive species to restore the beautiful view. Plus, you’ll learn about opportunities for volunteer projects.
